Closing out New York

Okay, so just a couple random things that would have made my previous posts even longer.  So I have pulled them out for this one.

First, Sunday night before heading back to the hotel Dan indulged Alicia and took me to visit the old Rochester Cemetery.  I could have spent a couple of days wandering around this place.

You need a map to get around this place.  It was massive and had headstones like these throughout the entire thing.  The other cool thing was the mausoleums.

We found Frederick Douglas and Susan B. Anthony’s graves.  Pretty cool.  The other fun thing was the old churches throughout the acreage.

Since the area was deserted we took the opportunity to play with the timer on our camera.  Now if I could get it so I don’t look like I’m taller than Dan.

Okay, that sort of solves it.

Beautiful fountain in front of the church.

This picture is actually from before our trip.

For my birthday Tiffany gave me a travel survival kit.  She was scared for my safety or something, and made sure to include some mace.  Unfortunately we could never take it anywhere, since you can’t have it on an airplane, subway, or any major tourist attraction.  Bummer, but way funny.  Oh, the greatest thing she gave me was a duffle bag that said “grimy” to store our dirty clothes in.  Brilliant!!

Last random picture.  I loved these:

They are the sandals I bought for the trip.  I was completely unsure about them.  Especially when they gave me massive blisters for 2 weeks before we left.  They were perfect!!  I LOVED them.  Not to mention, I think they are absolutely adorable.  Best pair of shoes I have bought in a long time!  Totally worth the hassle to get them.

We loved you New York, can’t wait to go back!
