Getting a little tired of this now….okay, a lot tired.  We are scheduled for a c-section on the 30th.  (yep, the little guy is breech).  I’m hoping for between the 21st and the 27th. (wishful thinking huh?)  We have tickets to “Wicked” this weekend and I really don’t want to miss it.  Even if it means crossing my legs for a couple of hours! 

Bring on the adventure!

Alicia Turns 32

Just a few pics from my birthday at the beginning of July.  Had a great day with Dan and my boys. 


My birthday present.  I have been itching to get a KitchenAid for about a year now.  Finally bit the bullet.  LOVE IT!  Especially the red.  It took a little bit of searching to find it, but made it a more memorable day. 

I already have a list of the accessories that I want to get.  Dan is excited to have gift ideas for the next little while.
Oh, and just a little look at Alicia big and pregnant:

At 36 weeks pregnant.  I can still see my toes, unfortunately I don’t fit in any of my shoes.  Bring on the flip flops.

1 Mile Freedom Fun Run 2012

Alicia had so much fun running the Freedom 5k last year that we signed the whole family up to do the 1 Mile Fun Run this year. 

It was an early morning, but the boys seemed really excited to run the race.  They loved the shirts…which are just like the ones Mom and Dad exercise in.  Not to mention all the treats and goodies you get when you finish. 

We had some decent times…at least for our circumstances.

There Alicia is about 36 weeks along (9 months).  She stayed back with Garrick for the whole race, which means not much running!

I was proud of my little family.  I think we may have found a new tradition!  Look forward to next year.

Anyone Been to Ohio?

This morning Connor was doing his set of worksheets.  He was working on questions with a map of the USA and here is the resulting conversation:

Mom: What 3 states did you want to visit?
Connor:  Texas, Washington DC, and Ohio.
Mom:  Ohio??  Why Ohio?
Connor:  Because they have cool quarters.  Oh and the name Columbus.  I like that name.

Cool quarters?  That brings up so many questions.  Let’s just say it would be interesting to let Connor pick our family vacation.  (I was laughing so hard I didn’t even get into explaining the Washington DC isn’t actually a state…some future conversation I bet.)

The Boy’s 1/2 Birthday

My two oldest have the most unfortunate time for their birthdays…The week after Christmas.  Not only is Mom wiped out from Christmas, but the weather is awful and the idea of my home being taken over by 10 little boys makes me shudder.  Thus Connor has only ever had 1 “themed” birthday party….when he was 4. 

Alicia chose this year to change it up.  We did a 1/2 Birthday party for both Connor and Haden.  (Yep outside in 100 degree weather, with no water activities, and Alicia 9 months pregnant.  I’ll think it through better “next” time. Thank you Aunt Heather for coming to help out!)

Our theme was “What Can You Do With a Marshmallow?” 

First thing: Start building those marshmallow guns!

Then on to building towers and creating sculptures.  (Connor named his Frankenmallow)

Of course Garrick thought the party was for him too!

Then eating giant marshmallows off a string.

Then we did flinging marshmallows at targets, a throwing contest, and a spitting contest.  (Should I be proud that my children had no idea how to spit?)

Aunt Heather had to give a demonstration on how to spit.

One last contest of marshmallow blowing.  (Did I mention we made s’mores somewhere during all the contests.  Hot and Messy!!)

Time for the main event:  Marshmallow Gun war!!  They practiced hitting targets and then they went after each other.

Let’s just say everyone was sick of marshmallows when we finished!  The kids had fun though.  It brought back memories of cub scouts.  I think I have been a little out of practice running activities, but we survived and now I can wait another 4 years before I do a party:)
