Zander’s 1st Birthday Part II

On Z’s birthday we invited Grandma Rita, Papa Derek, & Grandma Burrell up for cake and ice cream.  Have I mentioned how much I don’t like doing cakes?  I would much rather do brownie sundaes for every birthday.  Now, I’m thinking I might make that a tradition.  Way less hassle.

Anyway, Z had a blast for sure.

Look at that, I made hats for all the boys.  (Couldn’t let Jacqui completely outdo me). SmileAnd yes, Zander did grab the candle again.  The poor kid had blisters for a few days.

I even made toppers for the cupcakes.  Unfortunately, my cupcakes look like lumps covered with green and white poo….see comments above about doing brownie sundaes.

There we go.  We survived the 1st year.  Z is not quite walking.  He will stand on his own, but has no desire to move his feet.  Kind of a blessing when we are heading off to Disney.  Don’t want to worry about him toddling away.

He is by far my chunkiest child.  He also has the quickest smile.  Thankfully it takes a lot to get him rattled.  I guess that is what you get with being boy #4.  What a joy to have in our home!

Zander’s 1st Birthday Part I

Cause, you know I have sooooo many pictures of a 1st birthday, we wouldn’t want to overload it in one post.

So we are back from our Disney trip, the boys started school, and Alicia has dealt with both a broken dishwasher and another visit from the plumber.  It has been an (cough, cough)exciting month.  But here are the pics from Zander’s first party with the Harwards.

A little photo story to explain it all.

Not sure about the whole stripped-down –to-the-diaper thing.

Okay, what is that?

Why yes, my mom did let me burn my finger on the candle.

It’s a good thing I’m a little obsessed with spoons.  It easily distracts me.

Success!!  After a meltdown at the beginning, he recovered and enjoyed his cake.

Zander Turned 1

I realized about a week before Z’s birthday that I really needed to get on the ball.  I usually do up an invitation, and actually do a party.  With California around the corner I was a little stressed about getting things planned, and done, but managed to do a little invitation and then a couple of small parties for family.

The hardest thing was trying to get pictures done.  Okay, the hardest thing was getting motivated to take some pictures.  I think that I just psych myself out and feel completely inadequate.  Fortunately I was happy with the results.

Here is a final copy of the invitation:

And, I just realized that my pictures of the parties are still on my camera, and I’m too tired to work through them…so here is a to be continued.  I will try to get it done before we head off to CA.

For now just admire my adorable baby!!
