So something was up with my blogger last night. My post hit our blog/Facebook, a couple people were able to read it, and now the entire post has disappeared from our blog. (Insert a sarcastic comment about the NSA overstepping its bounds AGAIN….however it is probably my error somehow.) So now I’m going to try and remember all the awesomeness I wrote.
This morning had the ultimate Bad Mom moment. I was working at my desk with Z standing next to me. He had found a metal marble (from a magnetix set), that I took from him and placed it on my desk. Then I thought I heard swallowing and looked over at him and he was looking sheepish. Scoured the desk and the floor and COULD NOT FIND THE MARBLE anywhere. Thus the panic ensued. Called Dan (because who else would I call?). While on the phone with Dan I was shoving my finger down Z’s throat trying to get him to throw up. That just succeed in getting Alicia to start trying to throw up (and a finger almost bitten off).
So, I packed up the 2 boys to take Z to Urgent Care. When I get there the nurse tells me that as long as he is breathing it should be fine. Yeah, can I have the doctor tell that to me please? Urgent Care finally gets us in and Z has a BAD diaper. So I decide to change the diaper before the doctor comes in and what do I find? The marble down his pants!!!!
The best I can tell he dropped the marble down his onesie shirt and it got stuck down by his diaper. I think the “swallowing” sound was him gasping as the cold marble touched his chest going down the shirt. WHAT A RELIEF!! (And an embarrassment!!)
So I took off to the front desk and told them that I found the marble down his pants. Totally made the nurses’ day! They thought it was awesome. So they cancelled my appointment. Alicia was just relieved she didn’t have to worry about something working its way through Z’s system. Now we’ll just see how much I get charged for an Urgent Care visit we didn’t complete!
Oh, and did I mention that I had plans to be an awesome Mom today? All of this happened 1 hour before we were supposed to surprise the boys and check them out of school to go tubing at Soldier Hollow! Add that to the stress load! It all worked out and the next post will have pics of our awesome afternoon.
I love it when my boys take the initiative and go out to play in the snow. It is even better when they play nicely together!
Connor started building a snow fort, and ended up getting more of an igloo. It was great snow for building. All the boys worked together on making Olaf the Snowman. Great Friday night activity!
Stressful two days this weekend. Dan called me Thursday morning to let me know he had been rear-ended on his way to work. Thankfully it was not a big deal. Dan was just fine. He was still able to drive the car and had already started the claims process.
Unfortunately, 20 minutes later I loaded the kids in my car for Zumba, and it wouldn’t start. I was hoping that it was just the battery. It had been kind of tetchy for a few weeks, so it wasn’t too much of a surprise. Inconvenience, but not horrible. Until we discovered that it was the battery cable being completely corroded, and not the battery itself. Not cool.
Thankfully we had a rental car to help us. Friday was a busy day running around getting BOTH of our cars fixed, but it was relatively painless and we had both back in our garage by 5:30pm. Whew. Crisis over. For now.
Oh, and giving props to Geico. They have been amazing. So on the ball. It was THE BEST experience we have ever had with auto insurance. They were trying to make it as convenient as possible for us. WONDERFUL!
