Bear Lake-Camping

Last week we did our annual camping trip with Alicia’s family.  This year we branched out a little and took off to Bear Lake.  After the initial disappointment of the camping situation (literally camping in a parking lot) we set up, and had a blast.  There was plenty of sand and shells to keep the boys happy, and that’s all that matters.

We always have shovels and pails in the trailer.  It was amazing the hours they occupied the boys.  Garrick was the little traveler, and we constantly had to go find him in other campsites.

The neighbors left us all their wood.  The boys had fun transporting it and stacking it.  We came home with more wood than we took.  Great for next time.

I made sure to have crafts for the boys to do.  This was a fuseball game that we picked up at the Home Depot Kids Club.  The boys actually started it on their own and Dan helped with the finishing touches.

A 3-D puzzle of a grasshopper that Dan helped Connor put together.  He loved flying that thing around the camp trying to scare everyone.

Aunt Heather taking Garrick for a ride on Connor’s bike.  We couldn’t get him off.

DSC_4582Garrick started using the Dutch Oven lid-lifter as a walking stick.  We thought we would put some tennis balls on the feet and have him dress up like a little old man.  He was pretty proud of himself.

DSC_4581 It was really hot, but enough storminess to keep it interesting.  Huge rainstorm the first night, which made it interesting for cleaning up dishes, but a lot of fun to sit and listen to the rain fall on the trailer.  It was a great time to just sit and relax.  Yep, Alicia read 2 books.  Perfect.
