“Stay-cation” Day 1

Well, due to the new baby and Alicia’s work schedule for the summer the boys haven’t gone to do many fun things.  So Dan decided to take off the rest of the week after Fish Lake and have us do the totally “vogue” stay-cation.  What a hoot! 

Anyway, a lot of stuff that we planned ended up being very nostalgic for Alicia.  It was fun doing things with the boys that I remember doing as a child.  For the first day we did an afternoon at Veterans Pool in Provo. (Where I had swimming lessons before the cool slides were installed). 

Thanks to Jacqui’s heads-up I knew that I couldn’t take a camera in to the pool area.  I tried to be sneaky, but couldn’t get any good shots – of course.  So we just got the token shot outside the gates.

This is the boys favorite pool.  They have the big slides that they can go down (with parents of course).  We had tons of fun running (okay, walking) around to do all the things at the pool.  Just a small sunburn on Mom and Dad and we were ready to move to the next activity.

The other thing that I remember as a child was my parents taking us to the BYU Game center for bowling on holidays when my Dad didn’t have to work.  I especially remember the bumpers.  So we headed over to the Wilk for a game.

 

First was putting on those classy shoes…some things never change.

We made the boys try it by themselves at first, and then took pity on them.  They have cool little ramps for the children to use.  Thank goodness, otherwise we would still be bowling.

They actually got pretty good with trying to aim the ramp.  Let’s just say that Connor beat Alicia, and Haden was only a couple of points behind.  It was a tense last frame!

Oh, and what bowling adventure would be complete without some ice cream?

 

(I really wanted to do the BYU Creamery, but the one on 9th was extremely busy and with all the construction on campus we couldn’t find the other one….bummer.  So on to the next best thing – 31 flavors at Baskin Robins.)

And Garrick, being patient as usual.  How very boring being the baby in the baby carrier!
