At Capitol Reef we took the 3mile roundtrip hike up to Cassidy Arch. Connor led the way for most of it (giving Grandpa a heart attack of a child possibly fall off the cliff). We had a nice early start and it was gorgeous.
If you squint you can see Connor’s part of the group coming down to the top of the Arch.

Connor wanted to get a little more daring. So I took him over to actually stand on the arch. He thought that was so cool!
Half of the group decided to take off on the longer Frying Pan hike across the top of the mountain so they could all get their steps in for the day (There was a big competition amongst some of the siblings for getting the most steps over the weekend—BTW Heather - I think you owe Mark a Jamba!) So they took off on the 5 mile hike and the rest of us just headed back down the mountain to the park for lunch. Ahhh-boy was it good to rest after this!
Now that we are back we are starting the “Stay-cation” part of our summer vacation. Stay tuned for more details!
