But still a lot of fun. Las Vegas was getting hit by a huge rain storm this last weekend, but we managed to stay busy with my Aunt Nancy and cousins. We got in town late Thursday and after a yummy breakfast took off to see the Hoover Dam. I honestly can’t remember ever seeing it, and was excited to go and see all the splendor.
I was totally excited by the new bridge they are building over the canyon. It will be so cool when they finish it.
After lunch we took a tour of the Ethel M. Chocolate factory. I was hoping that they would actually have people working on candy, with it being so close to Valentines. Yeah! We scored. They were working on chocolate covered caramels, which are my favorite. We splurged and bought some of the gourmet chocolate. I am in total heaven.
Connor loved trying to figure out where the conveyer belts went.
The kids loved running around the cactus garden adjacent to the factory. The only bummer was how dark it got. We didn’t get to see as much of the garden as we wanted to. Dan let the boys stick pennies in a penny stamping machine. They were totally thrilled to get flat pennies.
So jealous of your mini-vacation. I so need one!
