It was WET in Vegas. It was amazing to watch all the rain fall on Saturday. With the weather we had to change our plans. We were initially planning on doing some hiking in the state parks around Vegas, yuck! Not going to do that in the mud. We found out the the train museum in Boulder was starting to run their train rides again, so we booked it to the museum to make it in time for the first excursion.
We were a little anxious when saw a train driving up to the museum. We thought it was the one for the excursion, and there was NO way I would take my kids on it. There were tarps covering the “open-air” car and the enclosed car was about as enclosed as swiss cheese. Thankfully the one they use it more up to date with air conditioning and heaters.
The boys were literally jumping up and down with excitement.
The only upset was when Haden managed to get his flattened penny stuck in the window. When I tried to get it out, it fell out of the train. Oh the tears we had.
I’m such a mean mom. I didn’t do anything to get it back. Sorry kid. Get used to the disappointment.
