After a minor delay (birth), the season is upon us—Yippee!! We had to forgo our first couple of camping trips for the summer because of the “minor” change in our family…oh yeah, and because we had to get the Acura and trailer ready, but we finally made it.
We kept it simple this time and just did a couple of nights up at the Diamond Campground in Spanish Fork Canyon. Kat & Jared invited us up last year, but we didn’t make it and I have been itching to see what this one is like. I LOVED it!! Tons of shade, a river, and plenty of little trails for the kids to take off on. We had a blast! My favorite part was the educational trail that ran along the river. The boys loved looking for the signs and other fun things that they placed on the trail. We will definitely go back, and hopefully we will get there with family sometime!! Just a few pics to share!
We ended up setting up in a rain storm, no fun, but luckily it was over quickly. Dan set up the kitchen and cooked the Dutch ovens under our trailer canopy.
We tried out our new hiking backpack. Then realized that Garrick is supposed to be 16lbs and sitting on his own to be in that backpack. So on hike #2 we pulled out the good old snugglie.

We brought a a birdhouse (home depot) and a sailboat model (Cub Scouts) to work on for the afternoon. The kids had a blast working on the crafts. Definite do-again. Right now I’m thinking…marshmallow guns!!
