We made sure to make it to the beach in Florida. Trying to fit it in with the multiple days at the amusement parks was a little crazy, but we decided to skip the parks over the weekend, and just hit the beaches.
The first we went to was Cocoa Beach on the east coast of Florida. I was surprised at how empty it was for a Saturday afternoon.
Dan was brave enough to get into the water. He said it wasn’t too bad once you got wet. Alicia just loved walking up and down the beach finding shells.
Had so much fun and looked forward to the west coast the next day.
Sunday we drove out to Clearwater Beach on the west coast of Florida. It was a longer drive, but we were able to listen to Conference on the drive. It was completely crazy trying to get to the beach. Only 1 road over to the island and it took forever to get across the bridge. Totally worth it though. This was by far my favorite beach. The sand was so white and soft. It was a lot more busy, but we had a great stroll up and down the beach.
At the water’s edge the sand was composed of shells that were being broken down to sand. There were a lot of awesome shells to pick from. I felt like my feet had a pedicure when we were done with our walk.
I loved this beach. I would skip Cocoa beach and come here next time we go. The waves weren’t as bad and the water seemed cleaner. It was a beautiful way to spend Sunday.
What a great trip! We will always remember Dan’s 37th birthday. Looking forward to our next trip already!
