Fall Break seemed to be extraordinarily long this year. We contemplated last minute doing a quick trip up to Park City or something, but got frustrated over trying to get a hotel with 4 kids. So we were boring and stayed home. Dan did take off on Friday and we did a little car trip up AF Canyon. Gorgeous colors.
This was the highlight of the drive through the canyon. Let’s just say that we forget how much this canyon aggravates our car sickness. We were glad to get down into Heber Valley.
We decided to take a quick walk up Memorial Hill to work off some energy on the boys. Quick was not the way I would describe it. We were fast for about the first 50 yards. Then G decided he was done with the hike. Yep, there we were hiking a good mile up with a crying 4 year old. Then the tears magically disappeared when we hit the top.
I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of respect the boys had for the memorial. They were very curious about the different plaques and the stories. Then we headed down the hill and it took 10 yards for G to start crying again. We survived though, and the kids were thrilled to eat at the Dairy Keen (along with 80% of the rest of Heber Valley). A definite do-again even if I have to take some Dramamine before I get in the car.
