Okay, so now I’m remembering what happened Mother’s Day weekend. Our ward has the tradition of doing their Father/Son campout the Friday before Mother’s Day. Which, one of the less known perks of being in a house full of boys----that means Mom gets a night off!! All the boys went camping (sans Z—couldn’t do that to Dan yet) and I called all my sisters (that includes Sarah) and we did a Girl’s Night.
The boys at the shores of Utah Lake for the campout. They didn’t get “too” wet and had fun trying to dodge all the cow patties!
So after deciding to do a Girl’s night, next comes “what to do?” Always the hardest thing. When walking with Steph, she was mentioning that one of the best RS activities they had done recently was going out to the gun range and shooting shotguns. LOVE!!
So I called the biggest gun nut I know (Dear old Dad ) and asked if he could help us out with some shooting. We decided to just do the Rec Range and practice with the pistols and rifles. What a hoot!! It was amazing. Some of the guns totally freaked me out, but it was good to get a chance to hold them and use them and begin to feel a little more comfortable.
It ended up being an amazing Daddy-Daughter night. Thanks Dad for helping out (and providing all the supplies…it was a lot of bullets, but a lot of memories as well!)
Had to include this picture. We all went to load into Dad’s car to head off to the range, and no one could sit in the front seat. It was the place of honor for all the guns and bullets. Priorities right?
how fun!
