Haden turned 7

Yippeee, I have finally hit the end of the year!!  Poor Haden and Connor have birthday’s that are meshed together that there is a lot of crossover. 

Haden turned 7, and was super excited about his birthday.  He informed me that we have a tradition of getting a cooked breakfast on birthdays (I don’t know where he got that.  I HATE cooking breakfast), but Mom complied, and to make life a little less complicated we added candles and counted it as his cake.

The next day was New Year’s and we had our annual Chinese Dinner with the Preece’s (one of our favorite traditions) and everyone came up to our house for brownies & ice cream.

Oh, and Connor started opening his birthday presents.

This was a great Father/Son project.  So entertaining to watch Dan and ALL the boys working on it for the next few weeks.

What a hit!!  Unfortunately it didn’t survive the basement remodel.  (Somebody’s son went climbing in the storage room where he wasn’t supposed to, fell, and smashed the whole thing.  GRRRR moment.)  So we took it apart, saved most of the parts and Connor has been making custom vehicles for the past month or so.  He has even attached batteries from his electric kit to get them to be mobile.  He tells me he is going to be a scientist.  Better you than me bud!
