8 years old is a big deal. I'm becoming more and more aware of this every day. Connor has grown so much this year. It seems like he is always doing something new. Here is a look at some things he has done this year.
The same week he turned 8 he was baptized. It was a great experience for the whole family. Almost everyone in our families attended and Connor couldn’t stop smiling. I can’t believe how fast that came!
How sad is it that my son can wear his short-sleeve cub scout shirt in the beginning of January without a problem. It was that kind of winter here.
Yep, Alicia’s year off from Cub Scouts is officially over. We are back in
the saddle again…at least it is a parent this time. Must be honest. I’m glad
for the experience I had as a leader, cause now I am an awesome parent when it
comes to scouting. Oh, and I actually understand the program, which has saved a
lot of headaches. Connor is just excited to be a “legit” cub scout
now. Along with scouting came the Space Derby for his first pack meeting. He worked really hard on his rocket, and Dan was in heaven helping him out.
Connor’s 2nd grade class presented a play called “Glow” and Connor got to be a spider. He LOVED his costume! (Oh, and he actually sang…which did his mother’s heart good!)
Connor had his end of year recital for piano in May. He catches on pretty quick to the music…especially when he associates it with something mathematical. I was impressed at how well he performed this time, since I knew the stress that he (mom) went into preparing the pieces. He was much more comfortable this time around.
